Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her professional name Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist signed to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. In October 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her debut EP Pho. It was here that she was recognized. Her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. Ari Lennox continued to upload her songs online throughout 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. In July of 2015, she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat it Out. In the following year, her music began to circulate all over the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some references for Rihanna. It was announced on the 8th of December she signed with Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. In October 2016 she dropped her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared in two songs with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video came out on the 5th. In November, she dropped two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Two singles more were released on the 11th of November, titled Pedigree and No One. She appeared with Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16, and then she released the song as a single by herself to her debut album. A music video was released 20 February 2019 in order in conjunction with the song. Within the first time, it was viewed more than 3 million views. She supported 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of 2018.
